Violence Against Women– On September 15, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. Res. 566, a resolution supporting the goals and ideals of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Health- On September 13, the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health passed, by voice vote, the Improving Access to Maternity Care Act, H.R. 1209.

On September 13, the House Committee on Homeland Security approved, by voice vote, H.R. 5065, the Bottles and Breastfeeding Equipment Screening Act, as amended.

Child Protection- On September 14, the House Education and Workforce Committee approved, by voice vote, H.R. 5963, the Supporting Youth Opportunity and Preventing Delinquency Act, as amended.

Miscellaneous- On September 14, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved, by voice vote, H.R. 5147, the Bathrooms Accessible in Every Situation (BABIES) Act, as amended.

Hearings:

International- On September 14, the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues held a hearing, “Protecting Girls: Global Efforts to End Child Marriage.”

Family Support- On September 13, the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Nutrition held a hearing, “Past, Present, and Future of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Improving Innovation and Success in Employment and Training Programs.”
