Floor Action:

Budget- On October 26, the House passed, 216-212, H. Con. Res. 71, the Senate-amended FY2018 budget resolution.

Child Protection- On October 26, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, S. 782, the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats (PROTECT) to Our Children Act.

Violence Against Women- On October 23, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. 1766, the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting (SAFER) Act of 2017, as amended.

Hearings:

Violence Against Women- On October 25, the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs held a hearing on several bills, including S. 1870, the Securing Urgent Resources Vital to Indian Victim Empowerment (SURVIVE) Act, S. 1942, Savanna’s Act, and S. 1953, the Tribal Law and Order Reauthorization and Amendments Act.

Small Business- On October 26, the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship held a hearing, “Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Women.”

Health- On October 25, the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing, “Federal Efforts to Combat the Opioid Crisis: A Status Update on CARA and Other Initiatives.”
