Floor Action:

Military- On November 14, the House approved, 356-70, the conference report for H.R. 2810, the FY2018 National Defense Authorization Act; the Senate approved the measure, by voice vote, on November 16.

Child Protection- On November 14, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. 534, the Protecting Young Children from Sexual Abuse Act, as amended.

Tax Policy- On November 16, the House approved, 227-205, H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Mark-Ups:

Tax Policy- On November 16, the Senate Finance Committee approved, 14-12, its version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (as-yet-unnumbered).

STEM- On November 15, the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee approved, by voice vote, several bills, including H.R. 4254, the Women in Aerospace Education Act, and H.R. 4375, the STEM Research and Education Effectiveness and Transparency Act.

International- On November 15, the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, several bills en bloc, including H.R. 1415, the End Neglected Tropical Diseases Act, and H. Con. Res. 90, which condemns the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya, an ethnic minority in Myanmar.

Family Support- On November 15, the House Financial Services Committee approved, 58-0, H.R. 4258, the Family Self-Sufficiency Act.

Hearings:

Employment- On November 14, the Committee on House Administration held a hearing, “Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Congressional Workplace.”
