Floor Action:

Human Trafficking- This week, the Senate continued its consideration the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (S. 178), a bill that would establish a fund to aid domestic trafficking victims.

Mark-Ups:

Budget- On March 19, the House Budget Committee approved, 22-13, its version of the FY2016 budget resolution (as-yet-unnumbered).

Also on March 19, the Senate Budget Committee approved its version of the FY2016 budget resolution (as-yet-unnumbered) also on March 19 by a vote of 12-10.

Hearings:

Family Support- On March 17, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources held a hearing, “Expanding Opportunities by Funding What Works: Using Evidence to Help Low-Income Individuals and Families Get Ahead.”

Child Protection- On March 19, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigation held a hearing, “Child Exploitation Restitution Following the Paroline v. United States Decision.”
