This week, President Trump submitted to Congress an outline of his FY2018 budget priorities.

Floor Action:

Miscellaneous- On March 15, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. Res. 76, a resolution designating March 21 as “National Rosie the Riveter Day.”

Mark-Ups:

Health- On March 16, the House Budget Committee approved, 19-17, the American Health Care Act, legislation that would repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as “Obamacare.”

Hearings:

Military- On March 14, the Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing, “Information Surrounding the Marines United Website.”

Health- On March 15, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources held a hearing, “Reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.”

Child Protection- On March 16, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations held a hearing, “Combating Crimes Against Children: Assessing the Legal Landscape.”

On March 16, the House Education and the Workforce Committee held a hearing, “Honoring our Commitment to Recover and Protect Missing and Exploited Children.”
