Appropriations- On July 23, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved, 16-14, the FY2016 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

Crime- On July 23, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (S. 1169).

Violence Against Women- On July 22, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee passed, by voice vote, the Securing Urgent Resources Vital to Indian Victim Empowerment (SURVIVE) Act (S. 1704).

Veterans- On July 22, the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Health passed, by voice vote, H.R. 423, the Newborn Care Improvement Act, and H.R. 2915, the Female Veteran Suicide Prevention Act.

Health- On July 23, the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved several bills, by voice vote, including the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Act (H.R. 1344) and the Protecting Our Infants Act (H.R. 1462).
