Mark-Ups:

Appropriations- On July 20, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved, 31-0, S. 1603, the FY2018 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies spending bill. The Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies approved the legislation on July 18.

On July 19, the House Appropriations Committee passed, 28-22, the FY2018 Labor, Health and Human Services (HHS), and Education spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered), as amended.

On July 19, the House Appropriations Committee passed, by voice vote, the FY2018 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered), as amended.

On July 17, the House Appropriations Committee approved, 31-20, the FY2018 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On July 19, the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, several bills, including H.R. 95, the Veterans’ Access to Child Care Act, as amended.

Budget- On July 19, the House Budget Committee approved, 22-14, the FY2018 Budget Resolution (as-yet-unnumbered).

Hearings:

Human Trafficking- On July 20, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations held a hearing, “Gangs in Our Communities: Drugs, Human Trafficking, and Violence.”

International- On July 18, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations held a hearing, “Implementing the Global Food Security Act.”

Family Support- On July 18, the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Nutrition held a hearing, “The Next Farm Bill: Pathways to Success for SNAP Households.”
