Floor Action:

Human Trafficking- On July 16, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, the Sean and David Goldman International Child Abduction and Return Act, as amended (H.R. 3212).

Reproductive Health- On July 16, the Senate rejected, by a vote of 56-43, a motion to end debate on the Protect Women’s Health from Corporate Interference Act of 2014 (S. 2578).

Appropriations- On July 16, the House passed, 228-195, the FY2015 Financial Services and General Government Spending Bill (H.R. 5016).

Mark Ups:

Appropriations- On July 17, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved, by voice vote, the FY2015 Defense spending bill (H.R. 4870).

Children- On July 15, the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved, by voice vote, the Sudden Unexpected Death and Data Enhancement Awareness Act (H.R. 669).

Hearings:

Reproductive Health- On July 15, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing, “The Women’s Health Protection Act (S.1696): Removing Barriers to Constitutionally Protected Reproductive Rights.”

International- On July 16, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations held a hearing, “The Growing Crisis of Africa’s Orphans.”

Human Trafficking- On July 15, the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education held a hearing, “Protecting America’s Youth: An Update from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.”
