Floor Action:

Appropriations- On February 27, Congress approved H.R. 33, which would extend funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through March 6.

Mark-Ups:

Human Trafficking- On February 26, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (S. 178) and the Stop Exploitation through Trafficking Act (S. 166).

On February 26, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved, by voice vote, the End of Modern Slavery and Trafficking Initiative Act (S. 553).

On February 27, the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved en bloc, by voice vote, the Trafficking Prevention in Foreign Affairs Contracting Act (H.R. 400).

Hearings:

Human Trafficking- On February 24, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing, “Human Trafficking in the United States: Protecting the Victims.”
