Floor Action:

Appropriations- On December 7, Congress approved H. J. Res. 123, which provides continuing appropriations for FY2018.

Violence Against Women- On December 5, the House passed, 409-0, H.R. 3317, the Stop Abusive Female Exploitation (SAFE) Act.

International- On December 6, the House passed, 423-3, H. Con. Res. 90, a resolution condemning violence committed against the Rohingya, an ethnic minority in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.

Mark-Ups:

Violence Against Women- On December 6, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee approved, by unanimous consent, S. 1870, the Securing Urgent Resources Vital to Indian Victim Empowerment (SURVIVE) Act.

Hearings:

Employment- On December 7, the House Administration Committee held a hearing, “Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Congressional Workplace: Examining Reforms to the Congressional Accountability Act.”

On December 6, the House Education and Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions held a hearing, “Workplace Leave Policies: Opportunities and Challenges for Employers and Working Families.”
