Senate Votes on Family Planning Regulation

On March 30, the Senate approved, 51-50, H. J. Res. 43, a resolution to repeal a regulation that prevented states from withholding Title X federal family planning funds from organizations that provide abortions. Vice President Mike Pence cast the tie-breaking vote. President Trump is expected to sign the legislation into law.

The House approved the measure on February 16 (see The Source, 2/17/17).
