Senate Supports National Sexual Assault Awareness

On April 28, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, a resolution recognizing and supporting National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (S. Res. 452).

Sponsored by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the measure would bring greater awareness to the problem of sexual assault and publicly acknowledge the survivors. Sen. Grassley noted that “Americans have commemorated the month of April with activities designed to support survivors of sexual violence in their efforts to heal. Before the month comes to a close, it is important that Congress also express its support for the goals and ideals of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.”
