On December 21, the House passed, by voice vote, S. 1766, the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting (SAFER) Act, sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). The Senate approved the measure on October 23 (see The Source, 10/27/17).
The House vote clears the bill for the president’s signature.
