On August 1, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. Res. 536, a resolution designating September 2014 as National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
The measure, sponsored by Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), recognizes that ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths among American women and that there is no early detection test for the disease.
