Congress Approves Continuing Resolution, Avoids Government Shutdown

On December 7, Congress approved H. J. Res. 123, which provides continuing appropriations for FY2018.

The measure would extend federal funding through December 22, thus averting a government shutdown. Congress passed the current continuing resolution (CR) (P.L. 115-56) on September 8; it expired on December 8 (see The Source, 9/8/17).
