House Passes Bill to Repeal “Obamacare”
On May 16, the House passed a bill to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148) and the health-related provisions in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act (P.L. 111-152).

Senate, House Committees Approve Farm Bills
This week, the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee and the House Agriculture Committee approved separate versions of the legislation commonly known as the Farm Bill.

Military Construction, Veterans Spending Bill Approved by House Subcommittee
On May 15, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies approved the FY2014 Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

House Panel Approves International Child Abduction Bill
On May 15, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations approved the Sean and David Goldman International Child Abduction Prevention and Return Act of 2013 (H.R. 1951).

Joint Committee Holds Hearing, Releases Report on Women in Manufacturing
On May 15, the Joint Economic Committee held a hearing on women in manufacturing.

House Panel Examines U.S. Contribution to Malaria Initiatives
On May 17, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations held a hearing, “The U.S. Contribution to the Fight Against Malaria.”
