Floor Action:

This week, the House is scheduled to consider the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (S. 178).

Mark-Ups:

Appropriations- On Tuesday, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies will mark up the FY2016 Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

The full Appropriations Committee will consider the legislation on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense will mark up the FY2016 Defense spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered) in a closed session.

Also on Wednesday, the House Appropriations Committee will mark up the FY2016 Commerce, Justice Science, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

International- On Thursday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will mark up the Girls Count Act (S. 802).

Also on Thursday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee will mark up its version of the Girls Count Act (H.R. 2100).

Hearings:

Violence Against Women/Crime- On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing, “Taking Sexual Assault Seriously: The Rape Kit Backlog and Human Rights.”
