to Celebrate Impact of Women in Congress
Women’s Caucus Members Will Share Anecdotes on the Value of Collaboration Among Women in the 113th Congress
Washington, D.C. – March 3 – The Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues (CCWI) will celebrate the impact of women in the 113th Congress in their own words on Wednesday, March 5, at the Women’s Policy, Inc. (WPI) annual Congressional Gala.
The event will celebrate the impact of women in the 113th Congress and the leadership of the Women’s Caucus: Co-Chairs Congresswomen Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) and Donna F. Edwards (D-MD), and Vice-Chairs Congresswomen Kristi Noem (R-SD) and Doris O. Matsui (D-CA). Founded in 1977, the Women’s Caucus is the only bipartisan group dedicated to advancing issues of importance to women and families in Congress, and includes all 82 women currently serving in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“It’s a historic time for women in Congress,” said Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA). “With more women Members than ever before and pressing issues that affect women and families here and abroad, I’m pleased to be able to come together and share stories of collaboration with the other members of the Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues to celebrate our work together during the 113th Congress.”
“I look forward to joining my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to share our stories and our shared interest in bettering the lives of women in the United States and abroad,” said Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (D-MD). “The Congressional Women’s Caucus is well-suited to celebrate our successes, and to also bring us together to work on the challenges that lie ahead.”
